For Wedding Wednesday, we’re featuring this wedding from last October at Thurman’s Mansion. Jaimie and Garrett got married on a gorgeous fall day with golden lights, a pumpkin patch, and a roaring party — after a touching ceremony. ButterFly Bridal and Events coordinated the day.
We filmed their wedding entirely on HD video, and they loved it! (See the bride’s review below). Congratulations Jaimie and Garrett!
We still have a couple fall 2016 dates available! Contact us to film your wedding — on HD or Super 8mm or both — or photograph your wedding day! We’re offering 10% off open dates in the remainder of 2016.

Filming Kacie & Dustin’s elegant wedding was our first time at Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, Texas. It was a magical place, like a Spanish Villa carved into a hill with stunning views of Enchanted Rock off in the distance. We’d both made that drive in to Enchanted Rock countless times, passing the lions at the unassuming gates of the estate, never knowing what treasures lay inside.
Kacie and Dustin’s wedding day was touching, funny (see “McDreamy” during the ceremony), and laid-back. We were very happy to work with the kind, talented, and professional Ashlee Voda of Mrs. Planner LLC for this wedding! Thanks Ashlee for introducing us to Kacie and Dustin! We shot their wedding day completely in cinematic HD video.
Congratulations Kacie and Dustin!

I know when I almost tear up multiple times while editing a highlight film, I’ve struck upon something really special and amazing. Katie & Jesse’s wedding day was just that: a multilingual meeting of two sweet souls — Katie, who’s a Texan, and Jesse, who’s French, met and fell in love in the magical city of Prague. Sounds like the beginning of a fairytale… And their day was a fairytale, from the carefully hand-selected details and the romantic ambiance, to the sentimental moments that tugged on the heartstrings.
Don’t take it from me, just watch the magic unfold, below…
…and much, much more to come in their full-length film!
This day was also made so special by the talented team: Katherine O’Brien, who we always enjoy working with so much when we’re lucky enough; the lovely, well-appointed, and French-inspired new venue, Ma Maison (French for “my house,”), run by the very nice family, the Moises; plus the day run artfully and smoothly thanks to Carmen Bright; featured gorgeous blooms from Petal Pushers; and was deliciously catered by Royal Fig, who developed a European-style fare for the evening.

I was happy & surprised to see Elissa & Chris‘ beautiful wedding documented on the the Borrowed and Bleu wedding blog with gorgeous photos by Lindsey Thorne Photography and a Super 8 & HD wedding film by us!
Elissa and Chris’ November wedding in Texas Hill Country is overflowing with DIY vintage charm, captured by Lindsey Thorne Photography. Star Hill Ranch was the backdrop for their laid-back celebration, which included polka dot shoes for the bride, a wool suit for the groom and a reading from their adorable dog! Be sure you don’t miss their awesome Super 8 wedding film by Nostalgia Film.

Kevin of Brass Tacks reached out to us to document ISES‘ annual gala. Since it was a ’20s theme, it was a perfect fit for our style, and we were excited to shoot a ’20s-inspired event, as in the past our Pinterest board and blog devoted to the roaring ’20s have been some of our most popular ever!
So on June 20th, Nostalgia Film joined ISES for an evening for decadent glamour at One World Theatre, recognizing the best of the best in Austin’s event industry and inducting the 2013-2014 ISES Austin Board. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing, merriment, and music and libations in the Speakeasy Lounge were some of the features of the evening, as were Austin Phonograph Company, Dapper Dames, and DJ Gatsby.
While we chose not to shoot vintage-style Super 8mm to keep costs down and turn-around time quick, Michael shot HD and we overlaid actual film while editing. I was traveling all week for a conference–and met Michael in Dallas shortly after to film a Super 8 wedding–so many kudos to him for filming it and creating it all on his own!
